Lessons From Abroad, Inc. is an organization consisting of like-minded higher education professionals who aim to assist in the re-entry process individuals experience when coming back to the US from abroad, especially those who have pursued educational sojourns.
The LFA Board of Directors is comprised of international educators who have all studied abroad and know firsthand the process of returning to the US. Following their academic sojourns, the board members chose careers in the field of international education, serving either at university campuses or with international education organizations. All have significantly contributed to the development of best practices, research scholarship and professional development related to the advancement of education abroad.
The LFA Board of Directors, LFA Advisory Board, and LFA Conference Chairs strive to ensure consistency across all Lessons conferences and uphold the best practices for returned student services. We all have full-time jobs and serve as volunteers as a “labor of love”. While our universities and organizations have no formal affiliation with Lessons From Abroad, Inc., they often support the endeavors of the organization through in-kind donations and resources.
